Berry Good French Toast Bake
½ C flour
1 ½ C milk
1 T sugar
½ t vanilla
¼ t salt
1 t cinnamon
½ t nutmeg
6 eggs
10 slices (1 inch thick) French bread cut into 1-inch cubes
3 oz, cream cheese (1 small pkg) cut into ½ inch cubes
1 C fresh or frozen blueberries or raspberries
½ C chopped pecans
Grease 9 x 13 baking pan. Place flour milk, sugar, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and eggs in large bowl, and beat with a hand mixer until smooth. Add bread cubes and stir until coated.
Pour bread mixture into pan. Top evenly with cream cheese, berries, and pecans. Cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours.
Heat oven to 350º. Bake bread mixture, uncovered, 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with maple syrup.
